Δύσκολο να ξέρουμε από τώρα αν πρόκειται για αλλαγή ύφους ή απλή αλλαγή ονομασίας, αλλά τα μέχρι πρότινος βραβεία VGX δίνουν τη θέση του στα The Game Awards όπως ανακοίνωσε ο Geoff Keighley. Ο νέος θεσμός έχει την υποστήριξη από μεγάλους publishers, για αυτό και ανακοινώθηκε, μέσα σε όλα, η σύνθεση του του σχετικού συμβουλίου.
